Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
This is the federal agency that handles charges of discrimination under Title VII (race, religion, sex, national origin), the ADEA (age), and the ADA (disability discrimination). The web-site contains information concerning the laws and regulations the EEOC enforces, the specific kinds of discrimination the EEOC investigates, and a variety of other useful information. To kind out how to file a "charge" of discrimination with the EEOC, go to the EEOC homepage and click on "How To File A Charge."

Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries
The Civil Rights Division of this state agency investigates complaints of unlawful employment practices under state law including race, sex, age, disability, national origin, religion,marital status, and injured worker discrimination, family leave and retaliation for workplace safety complaints and for whistleblowing. The Bureau also has a contract with the EEOC to investigate some federal law discrimination claims. On BOLI's home page, you will find a tab entitled "Filing A Civil Rights Complaint." United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals handles appeals from the U.S. District Courts in the Northwestern area of the country. The Ninth Circuit's web-site contains published decisions of the Court of Appeals as well as information on cases currently docketed in the Ninth Circuit.

United States Department of Labor
This federal agency handles a number of federal laws, including laws on overtime pay, minimum wage, child labor, and federal family medical leave. The Department of Labor also investigates complaints of discrimination by federal contractors, federal family medical leave violations, and violations of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Act.
